C.A.G. Representatives meet with Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, 22/03/06...
Representatives from the Crossrail Action Group travelled to Westminster to meet with Chris Grayling MP, the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport. The meeting was arranged to give the group a chance to discuss their concerns regarding the depot and sidings in Romford, and their worries were met with understanding from the MP. Mr Grayling condemned Crossrail's plans, deeming them "financially out of control". Although the Conservative Party have always voted with the government on Crossrail, it is now his belief that he and his colleagues should look into the amount of public money being spent in developing this project to see whether the public are getting good value for money.
