Opposing the Crossrail Plan for Romford & Chadwell Heath
Stop Press by Andrew Rosindell regarding Linda Perham M.P. for Ilford North
S t o p P r e s s . . . . . .
N E W S R E L E A S E
Andrew Rosindell M.P. for Romford has today made an urgent appeal to the newly
elected Chairman of the Crossrail All Party Parliamentary Group to intervene to
stop the proposed Depot being built in Romford.
Linda Perham M.P., who represents the neighbouring Ilford North constituency has
already received scores of letters from members of the Crossrail Action Group
asking her to help the campaign to stop the Depot.
Now, Andrew has appealed directly to her, asking for her support to find an
alternative location for the Depot and asking Mrs Perham if she will meet
Crossrail Action Group members from Romford.
Andrew said:
"Linda and I are from different political parties, but as a neighbouring M.P. to
Romford, I hope she will support my belief that the construction of a large
Crossrail Depot in the Crowlands/Rush Green area of my constituency would be
wrong and disrupt the lives of so many people.
I am sure that if it were proposed for a residential area in her constituency in
Ilford, she would oppose it, so I hope she will do the same for the people of
Romford.
As Romford's M.P., I have also asked Linda to meet C.A.G. members face to face
and have offered to arrange this either in Romford or at the House of Commons.
I say to Linda Perham, whom I have always believed to be a caring M.P, to stop
and look at the predicament residents of Romford find themselves in over this
and to act to help us change the minds of Crossrail and the government."
A copy of the letter to Linda Perham M.P. from Andrew Rosindell M.P. can be

Dear Linda
You have probably by now received several e-mails from my constituents regarding
the proposal by Crossrail to build a large Depot in a residential area of
Romford.
I know how committed you are to the Crossrail project, but the Depot proposal is
something that could be placed anywhere along the route and I hope you will
agree that a residential area is not the best place?
I wondered if you could use your influence as Chairman of the All Party
Crossrail Group to help myself and the Romford Crossrail Action Group (C.A.G.)
persuade the powers that be that they should look at alternative locations for
their Depot.
If you would be willing to meet members of C.A.G., I know they would appreciate
it.
With kindest regards.
Yours ever,
Andrew
